What we'd all like to know...

Q&A is an Australian television show which encourages the audience - both in the studio and in their homes - to ask questions of the panellists, who often include politicians, celebrities, social commentators etc. The show has quite a twitter following, with #qanda trending most Monday evenings during the telecast.

The following video question was submitted by @HCeywood and @cbsqaured_, Chemistry PhD students in Adelaide. It's worth repeating, as Australia is about to embark on probably one of the lamest elections we have seen in recent times, with both major parties running as quickly as they can from committing to climate change abatement schemes. To be fair to Labor, at least they believe in the science. They're just too gutless to do anything about it, and Australia will fall behind the rest of the world as new technologies and innovations evolve elsewhere.

Why do politicians refuse to listen to the science of climate change? What more can scientists do to engage over half the electorate that don't believe that climate change is man-made?

Note the writing on the board about the fume hood.
